Bostik C&D Division appoints Scott Banda

Market Manager – Ceramic Installation Systems

Middleton, Mass. (Aug. 7, 2008) —

Bostik Inc.’s Construction & Distribution (C&D) Division has appointed Scott Banda as Market Manager – Ceramic Installation Systems.
Banda joined the Bostik C&D Division in 2004 as Carpet, Vinyl & Cement Patch Product Manager and was later promoted to Product & Market Development Manager in December 2007.

"Scott’s marketing savvy, business development skills and technical know-how helped us increase the revenue of our DURABOND® carpet, vinyl and cement patch product line by

more than 55% over the course of this four-year period," said Robert McNamara, Director of Sales & Marketing for the Bostik C&D Division.

"Scott’s knack for end user-driven product development and new market development also led us into our leadership positions in both the moisture control sector of the flooring market and in green building practices overall," McNamara said. "Many of Scott’s ideas have been emulated in other market segments within our C&D Division and throughout Bostik."

In his new role, Banda will work closely with distributors, contractor customers and Bostik C&D Division’s sales, marketing, manufacturing and research-and-development teams to launch new ceramic installation systems within North America.

Banda also will spearhead Bostik C&D Division’s market development activities in the rubber flooring arena. He will meet with rubber flooring OEMs, commercial contractors and architectural firms to identify related unmet marketplace needs and specify new rubber flooring installation solutions.

Banda earned a bachelor of science degree in marketing from Bentley College in Waltham, Mass., an M.B.A. from Northeastern University in Boston, and recently a
Certificate in Sustainable Design from the Boston Architectural College in Boston. Prior to 2004, Banda served global chemical industry leaders such as Loctite Corporation, ITW, Courtaulds Aerospace and Ecolab in various sales, marketing and product development roles.

Banda plans to take his expertise in green construction practices, which for the past four years has helped create so many innovative carpet, vinyl and cement patch products, now to Bostik’s ceramic side of the flooring business. He’s just the marketing mind to do it, having recently earned the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Accredited Professional (AP) designation, a highly sought-after credential that few manufacturers possess, typically held by leading architects and construction management personnel.

"I look forward to applying the vast knowledge I acquired through my work in obtaining the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED AP accreditation to help our Bostik C&D Division craft a green game plan for our market-leading ceramic installation systems," Banda said. "Going green had a lot to do with the success of the 14 new products I helped launch over the past four years, and green opportunities are equally abundant on the residential and commercial sides of the ceramic tile and stone installation market."
