NAHB® Model GREEN Home Building Guideline
Section 7.1.3 Global Impact -Products
NAHB's voluntary Model Green Home Building Guidelines are designed to be a tool kit for the individual builder looking to engage in green building practices and home builder associates (HBAs) looking to launch their own local green building programs. Since their debut in 2005, the Guidelines have helped move environmentally friendly home building concepts further into the mainstream marketplace. The NAHB Model Green Home Building Guideline represents a Residential Market complement to the USGBC LEED Commercial program.
Currently their are approximately 50 locally grown green building programs across the country, many of which are run by the local home builders' association (HBA). Eleven of these programs are voluntary, HBA-driven efforts, based on the NAHB Model Green Home Building Guildelines; and approximately ten additional Guideline-based programs are under development.
Green Building Initiative
The GBI is a resource for common sense information about energy efficient and environmentally sustainable building practice. A not-for-profit education initiative, the GBI is supported by a broad cross section of organizations and individuals with an interest in residential and commercial construction. The GBI helps builders, developers, architects, building owners and others involved in residential and commercial construction better understand green building, access tools to help incorporate green building techniques, understand evolving consumer attitudes, and communicate green building principles to consumers. Bostik is an active GBI Bronze Level Sponsor.

CRI Green Label
Today, indoor air quality (IAQ) is an important environmental consideration, especially since we spend approximately 90 percent of our time indoors. In 1992, CRI launched its Green Label program to test carpet, cushions and adhesives to help specifiers identify products with very low emissions of VOCs. CRI has recently launched its next series of improvements called Green Label Plus for carpet and adhesives. This enhanced program sets an even higher standard for IAQ and ensures that customers are purchasing the very lowest emitting products on the market. Using scientifically established standards, the Green Label Plus program symbolizes the carpet industry’s commitment to a better environment for living, working, learning and healing.
CSI Greenformat
GreenFormat will provide a standardized format for reporting information about the sustainable attributes of construction products. This information will be stored in a Web-accessible database that allows users to sort and view the data in various ways to best suit a project’s needs. The database offers an additional benefit to manufacturers, as it provides a way to present clear, consistent, and concise information on the lifecycle qualities of products to specifiers.
